About
Alex Strader (Born August 4, 1987) creates both mixed media and digital work, often with original characters. His work is loosely based on real life experiences with a mix of dreams, music, fiction, and pop culture. He also explores themes of suffering and the expanding neurosis of 21st century society, albeit in a humorous and often ambiguous way. He graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2012 and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2017.
“I’ve always been interested in characters, both real and imaginary. Everyone has a personality they craft over time, just like a drawing or a painting. The best part is, the variations are endless. For me, I’m just happy I found a balance of using both my art training and the sensibilities I crafted as a child. I feel like I didn’t waste my time reading MAD Magazine, studying more than anything. I think that’s what people ultimately look for in life.”
